Our 2024 community support wrap-up

At Parker Coles Curtis, we believe that true leadership goes beyond the courtroom—it’s about making a meaningful impact in the community we serve. In 2024, we were privileged to support incredible organisations that uplift, empower, and provide hope to women, children, and families in need.
From providing legal and financial support to women escaping domestic violence to helping families in crisis access essential resources, we are committed to giving back in ways that create real change. Here’s a look at how we made a difference in 2024.
Empowering families through Roundabout Canberra
This year, Parker Coles Curtis was proud to support Roundabout Canberra’s end-of-year fundraising appeal, contributing $10,000 to a matched giving fund, which helped raise a total of $73,037 for families in need.
With demand at an all-time high, Roundabout Canberra supported nearly 5,000 children in 2024, providing essential baby and children’s items to families facing hardship. Our team also volunteered, packing donations and seeing firsthand the profound impact that community generosity can have.

Through stories like John, struggling to provide Christmas gifts for his children, Jenny, a new mum facing financial difficulties, and Harry, excited but worried about starting school without supplies, we were reminded of how small acts of kindness create life-changing support.
Supporting women and families with Karinya House
Our partnership with Karinya House continued to grow in 2024, reinforcing our commitment to supporting women facing crisis pregnancies and homelessness.
In May, we were proud to be the principal partner of the Home. Hope. Horizon. Luncheon, helping to raise vital funds for women and children in need. Our firm matched every donation throughout May, doubling contributions up to $30,000—ensuring that Karinya House could provide even more safe housing, counselling, and support services.

As the holiday season approached, we launched our Giving Tree Initiative, encouraging our team and the wider legal community to donate gifts, gift cards, and financial contributions to brighten the season for families supported by Karinya House.
Karinya House plays an essential role in empowering women to rebuild their lives. We are honoured to stand beside them and look forward to continuing our support in 2025.
Bringing Christmas joy to children in need
For another year, Parker Coles Curtis proudly sponsored the Special Children’s Christmas Party, ensuring that children living with disability, illness, or disadvantage could experience a magical day of celebration, gifts, and joy.
The impact of this event is immeasurable, and we are grateful for the opportunity to bring smiles and festive spirit to children and families who need it most.
Supporting men’s mental health with Menslink
We believe in fostering strong, supportive communities, and that includes advocating for men’s mental health and wellbeing. That’s why we proudly support Menslink, an organisation dedicated to mentoring and supporting young men in Canberra through counselling, leadership programs, and early intervention services.

Last year, we attended the Menslink Big Night Out, a key fundraising event that brings the community together to support young men facing challenges. Additionally, every second year, our team takes part in The Greatest Walk, a powerful initiative raising funds to ensure Menslink can continue its critical work in suicide prevention and mental health support.
Menslink’s services are essential in helping young men build resilience, confidence, and a brighter future, and we are proud to stand by their side in fostering a healthier, more connected community.
Championing women’s leadership with YWCA's She Leads Conference
In July, we were honoured to sponsor the 10th Annual She Leads Conference Networking Night, an event dedicated to empowering women and non-binary leaders.

With this year’s theme, "Rise Up!", the conference encouraged attendees to break barriers, challenge the status quo, and advocate for equality and justice—values that align perfectly with our firm’s mission.
As Canberra’s largest female-led family law firm, we are committed to fostering leadership, mentorship, and empowerment, ensuring that more women and non-binary individuals have the skills, confidence, and opportunities to lead.
Supporting women’s access to justice with the Women’s Legal Centre
At Parker Coles Curtis, we know that legal support can be life-changing, especially for women escaping domestic violence and facing financial hardship.
In June and July, we pledged to match all community donations to the Women’s Legal Centre, up to $10,000—helping to raise over $20,000 to fund critical legal services for women in crisis.

With domestic and family violence cases rising, this funding ensures that more women can access free legal assistance, covering everything from divorce applications and custody arrangements to emergency financial support and safety planning.
We are proud to stand with the Women’s Legal Centre in their mission to provide life-saving legal support to those who need it most.
Looking ahead to 2025: continuing our commitment to community
As we begin 2025, we reflect back on a year of generosity, advocacy, and impact. None of this would be possible without the support of our clients, team, and community partners—together, we are creating a stronger, more compassionate future.
In 2025, we remain committed to:
- Supporting women, children, and families in crisis
- Championing access to justice and leadership opportunities for women
- Giving back to the community that we are proud to be part of
